- Sonic and others launch WS-Reliability - a spec for guaranteed messaging over web services
- Web services continues to draw support - from SAP's new NetWeaver platform, Siebel, Harvard Business Review and others; while Avaki collaborates with Globus and IBM on OGSI compliant grid services
- Economic signals are mixed - results from Iona (down), Microsoft (up), ILOG (steady). IBM (slipping on software).
- Another analysts succumbs - Forrester swallows Giga for $50M.
